Grup TCB is the first Spanish maritime port terminal operator with engineering and consulting services. They are present in several countries and rapidly expanding internationally by adding new projects and terminals to their portfolio.
The purpose sought by the General Technical Directorate of Grup TCB was to create a Manual for the management of all the activities involved in the development: Business Development, Design, Construction, and IT equipment. Thus, establishing a consisted work methodology coordinated and focused on the excellence of services provided by the Grup TCB when managing new projects.
Scope, Challenges and Accomplished Objectives
- STAGE 1: Advise Grup TCB Serveis Tècnics on the preparation of their own Project Management know-how document, applicable to all their projects.
- Collaborate with Grup TCB Serveis Tècnics in the implementation of this Methodological System in the Ennore project (India).
- 2nd Phase: System Implementation for the inclusion of the IT & equipment specific activities, including the new responsibilities of each department and those of the Project Manager regarding the new departments incorporated in the system.
- STAGE 3: Providing the Department of Business Development (BD) of a Project Management System Methodology aligned with that of Serveis Tècnics, to regulate and standardize their activities. This process was focused on the Project Manager’s duties within the overall project, while searching for new terminals from the stage of preliminary analysis for Feasibility and Feasibility to the achievement of objectives.
